Sažetak:
Numerical simulations of engine performances are introduced as standard tool in internal combustion engine design and application analysis. Numerical simulations predicting the performances of turbocharged diesel engine transient operation enables the appropriate selection of turbochargers and exhaust system components. The erroneous turbocharging system design often leads to engine incapability to accept larger sudden loads. Computer codes for numerical simulations in most cases are handicapped due the lack in appropriate representations of turbocharger characteristics. In some commercially available computer codes for numerical simulations of engine operation, large data fields are used to represent the compressor map data. The paper presents the model for representation of compressor map by reduced data polynomials, offering very fast determination of the compressor data.
