Sažetak:
In order to reduce the costs of simulation, many people usually perform CFD simulation of car external aerodynamics by considering the symmetry boundary condition on the symmetry plane of the car. Symmetry boundary condition considers that everything on one half of the car (analyzed one) is mirrored to the other side. But, that is not real ; it is quite hard to expect that airflow around the car is symmetric, especially in the wake of the car. This paper shows differences in those two approaches, so first case is simulation of one half of car using symmetry boundary condition, and second case is simulation of whole car model.
