Sažetak:
Analysis and experiences showed that some types of industrial steam boilers have furnaces with thermo-kinetic characteristics that would enable safe and efficient destruction of various hazardous organic waste materials. This paper presents a method for determination of steam boilers applicability for the thermal destruction of various organic waste materials. Thermo-kinetic conditions to achieve required thermal destruction efficiency better than 99.99% are defined and mathematically presented. The proceeding is based on the known Arrhenius' equation. The thermo-kinetic data, i.e. appertaining reaction factor and activation energy should be known for substances foreseen to be thermal destructed. The final result is given in the form of a derived mathematical expression that reveals how the furnace geometry, thermal load and type of waste material influence the rate and thermal destruction efficiency.
