Sažetak:
In this paper, a sufficiently precise, relatively simple and reliable numerical model for simulation of 2D practical stand-alone masonry structures and masonry-infilled steel frames is presented. The model is based on the continuum mechanics and finite element method. A macro and micro masonry models can be used, that can simulate main nonlinear effects of masonry, such as: yielding and crushing in compression, cracking in tension, opening and closing of cracks, tensile and shear stiffness and shear failure. Contact elements are used for simulation of masonry unit – mortar interface, as well as for interaction of masonry with surrounding steel frame. These elements can simulate penetration, sliding and separation at the contact surface. Structural steel is modeled with a classical elasto-plastic 2D model, with the same nonlinear behaviour in both compression and tension. In unloading, a linear elastic behaviour is assumed. The geometric nonlinearity is modeled by successive correction of node coordinates of finite elements, as well as construction of structure in different phases. The presented models are evaluated using the results from previously performed experimental test of 1:3 scaled, single-bay, single-storey masonry-infilled steel frame under horizontal monotonic static load. Herein, three types of numerical models for masonry are used: a classical macro model and two precise micro models. Obtained numerical results are compared with the experimental results, with verification of their accuracy. Advantages and disadvantages of these masonry models are stated. Finally, main conclusions of this research are given.
